Another Troublesome Hospitalisation

Haiz... Mummy is so troublesome...
Sunday, we went to Aunt Kathy & Uncle John's wedding, Mummy came home with high fever...
Monday, Nainai took care of me the entire day except Nainai will pass me to Mummy whenever it's milktime.

Then mummy complained of immense stomach pain and headache...  but nainai dunno what to do.  And mummy is too groggy to decide what to do...  Therefore nainai cooked porridge for mummy while I waited patiently in my leapfrog.

Daddy finally came home around 7.30pm.  By then mummy already almost concussed in pain.  Daddy had to help mummy to the clinic downstairs our house.  But the doctor there diagnose mummy to have acute appendicitis.  So he wrote a referral letter to a friend of his at Mt Elizabeth hospital for a more detail check up.

Since I am so attached to mummy, daddy had to drag me along as an additional luggage.. Hahaha

Blah Blah... Blah Blah... Blah Blah...

Mummy ended up in a single-bedded with an additional cot of me.  Mummy had to go through so many blood tests.  But the doctor didn't order all tests at a single time.  Therefore the nurses pricked mummy a total of 5times. *Including times where they fail to draw any blood from the prick*

Ouch!

Mummy went for a CT Scan where she had to drink an oral contrast to enhance the stomach features and an intravenous contrast material to enhance the blood vessels for a better scan.
So, i was urgently bottle trained since the contrast material was damaging to my small built for the next 48 hours.

Mummy fed me with her frozen EBM.  Daddy was afraid that there wasn't enough milk for me, he went to buy DUMEX Stage 2 with immunofortis.  Woah, it costs $27 for just 700g!!

So expensive, hmm, i'll rather drink fresh from the milkcow on a daily basis...

Here is the beginning of bottle war again...  From 9am - 4pm, I cried myself to sleep because I don't believe mummy refuse to latch me on.
After being soooo hungry, I decided to drink alittle... Just enough to avoid myself being hungry. 25mls will do the trick.

By Thursday, I was 100% bottle trained...  Every 2 hours, I drank 50-100mls of dumex. Depending on my mood and temp of milk.

Mummy's frozen EBM was kept away from me until thursday evening because I already wasted a few bottles of it initially while battling with mummy & daddy on wednesday afternoon.

I'll hold on to bottles until Friday noon... Mummy promised me that she can latch me on by then.

Hospital's medela latina pump is wonderful... It helped mummy achieve her never before achieved letdown at every pumping session... Waigong & Waipo was comtemplating on buying it but mummy say it's too costly.

Upon mummy's discharged on thursday afternoon, Aunt Jasmine lent mummy her medela PIS Advanced so that mummy can keep her ss up while I cannot feed off her.

It works!!  Slightly noiser than Latina Plus... But works just as well.

Daddy wants to buy this PIS instead.  Then Daddy & Mummy can have back their couple time.  I'll be a good boy and let Nainai feed me whenever necessary...

Blessing in disguise...  Though I hate to be on bottles STILL... I'll use them after abit of struggling.  Afterall, it's mummy's milk right? Hehe

Fingers down for now... I wanna feed!!

  2. Oh dear. Take good care, lady.
And congrats! Ryan has done it!
Now you can relax and pump the milk with no worries.

PIS does 'create' the let down effect quite well. However, like any other electric pumps, it also could not relieve the engorgement fully. But, on the whole, it is still a very good and useful pump. :)

  3. hehe, joyce, if u need, get swing is juz as good... 1sided pump. works like PIS.

ivy, yes.. PIS cannot clear breasts totally... i had to stop pumping then massage and rest abt 5mins then pump again. but 1 good thing, everytime i pump, i achieve letdown. hehe... so i think it can increase ss if i pump more often.

i'm very happy Ryan did it... though very heartpain he went on hunger strike.. haha
